Medicare’s 30 Day Re-Admission Rule for Skilled Nursing Services

Medicare’s 30 Day Re-Admission Rule for Skilled Nursing Services

When anyone has to have a brief stay in a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation or skilled nursing the first question they always ask is when do I get to go home. Our therapists and nurses have your best interest in mind and will always put your safety first to ensure you are strong enough to manage on your own. We take pride in our follow up care and making sure you have the support needed. While you may leave our facility in good health, sometimes things don’t quite go as planned.

For those of you on Medicare, we want to make you aware of one of their allowances once you leave a skilled nursing facility. Medicare allows you a 30 day window from your discharge date from one of our Caring Place Healthcare Group skilled nursing facilities to be re-admitted for further therapy or skilled nursing. Medicare can continue to pay up to your maximum available days. No further hospital stay is required.

So should the need arise and things don’t go quite as planned, as long as it has been less than 30 days, you can come back for treatment. Our team will get you back on track and help determine where the issues lied that caused you to relapse. We’ll continue to encourage your steady progress so you can return home confident.

Our admissions team is here to help with any paperwork or questions regarding insurance coverage.  Please visit our Contact Us page for a listing of all of our Caring Place Healthcare Group locations or fill out the contact us form. We are here to serve you and your family.
