Dear Friends,
The holiday season begins next month and while things haven’t completely returned to normal, we hope the holiday celebrations will be better this year. We are still working on our plans for visitation and outings during the holidays A lot will depend on the conditions in the community, which are unknown at this time. As we get closer, we will communicate directly with you.
We know that holiday decorations are important to our residents, and we encourage holiday decorating. We ask you to remember that in a health care setting, we must be careful about the types and amounts of decorations. Below are some guidelines to follow.
Beginning in mid-October, we started administering the booster vaccine to our residents and workforce who were originally vaccinated with the Pfizer Vaccine. These clinics will continue through November and then we will work with our long-term care pharmacy to provide the booster vaccine on an on-going basis. If you have any questions please reach out to the leadership in your loved-one’s facility.
COVID continues to be a prevalent condition in our community and in our facilities. As an industry, we continue to develop our policies based on guidance and requirements from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). I know our policies change from time to time; I also want to reassure you that caring for your loved one is our utmost priority. We are doing the best we can to give our residents the opportunities for visitation and outings in a responsible and safe manner. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Regards,
Chase M. Kohn, COO
