Covid-19

Update June 24, 2020

We have always placed your loved one’s care as our highest priority.  Since early March we have taken steps to ensure our staff and residents remain safe and healthy. We initiated visitor restrictions, employee screenings, resident assessments and the distribution of proper personal protective equipment for our employees and residents.

We continue to work with our local and state departments of health to monitor any potential cases, and we have a plan in place to try to limit additional exposures. Our plan includes continuing our no visitor policy, enhanced health screening of residents and staff, and other measures informed by guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).

Unfortunately, we had a couple of facilities that experienced positive COVID residents and staff. I’m happy to report that is no longer the case. Thanks to the incredible effort of our staff, we limited the spread and nursed many of those residents back to good health!

If you had a loved one in one of the effected facilities, you should have been receiving a regular email update. If you did not, please complete the Contact Us form on our website and let us know which facility you have family at. Please list in the comments section to add your email for Covid-19 updates and we will add you to our email distribution list.

Many of you have inquired about visitation. On June 8, we started visitation in our independent and assisted living communities. We continue to wait for further guidance from CMS and ODH. Once we receive the guidance, we will share with our families. We look forward to welcoming you back when the time is right.

I also wanted to share with you that we are in the process of working with the Ohio National Guard to complete COVID testing for ALL of our team members working in nursing facilities. This process begins on June 25 and will continue (for us) through mid-July, when I expect all of our staff will be tested. Should we have a team member test positive, we will follow CDC and ODH guidelines to keep them off work until it is appropriate for them to return to work.

Thank you for the continued trust you have placed in us. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call our Corporate Compliance Line at 1-800-430-6695. Someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.
