Springtime is upon us. In Cincinnati, this means it can be 70 degrees one day and snow the next day! Spring represents rebirth in so many ways. The flowers and tree begin to bloom. People start coming outside more often and they shed their layers of clothing that kept them warm during the winter. For the first time in a long time, it feels like our LONG winter is really coming to an end!
For many of us, the past two years have felt like one long winter. At times we’ve been living under government-imposed restrictions; and at other times we’ve simply held ourselves back from activities out of an abundance of caution. We are now learning to live with COVID like we do with the common cold and flu. This is freeing us up to look at the world with a new perspective; one with a greater appreciation for the people in our lives and the things we get to do.
With spring comes a new beginning, finding ways to support our residents, families, and team members to bring “life” back into the facilities. I hope you start to see some changes in our skilled nursing facilities as well as our retirement communities. We are looking for ways to welcome families and guests back, not only for small group visits, but also for facility-wide activities. We want our facilities to be centers of active life where we can celebrate the joy of being together and the gratitude of sharing in each other’s lives for another day.
I want to thank you for your on-going patience and support throughout the previous two years. We appreciate the trust you’ve put in us to care for your loved ones. It is with gratitude and honor that we accept this responsibility and strive to deliver the highest level of quality care.
On behalf of our team members, I wish you well and, look forward to seeing you soon!
